2011 NM WING CONFERENCE INFORMATION

REGISTRATION
Go to the NM Wing Website http://www.nmcap.org. Look for a link to the 2011 Wing Conference. Open the link to find the registration form, fill in and mail to the address on the form.  The form and check may be hand-delivered to NM Wing.    Registration Form.

NEW THIS YEAR
This year, the Cadet Ball will be held on Friday evening.  Please plan to join us for a fun filled evening.

WHERE TO STAY
The MCM Elegante in Albuquerque is located at 2020 Menaul Blvd NE.  The room rate is $79 for a single or double per night (can accommodate four to a room).  Includes Hot Breakfast Buffet and 2 drink coupons per night.  When you call to make your reservation, please be sure to mention the code NM Wing Conference CAP to the reservation clerk.  Kindly make your reservation no later than 28 October by calling the Reservation Desk 866-650-4900 (M-F 0800-1700).  The room rate is good from Thursday night through Sunday night for those who whould like an extended stay.  

WHAT TO WEAR
Friday Night Cadet Ball - For the gentlemen- Mess Dress, formal civilian attire or suit.  For the ladies - Mess Dress, cocktail dresses or formal wear.  Cadets:  Young gentlemen - Blue uniform with white shirt and black bow tie or "Sunday best".  Young ladies - Blue Uniform, fancy dress or "Sunday best".

Saturday Morning - Conference Session - Any recognized CAP uniform.  Please no flight suits or BDU uniforms.  Cadets - Class A or Class B uniform with or without the tie may be worn.

Saturday Evening Banquet - For the gentlemen- Mess Dress, formal civilian attire or suit.  For the ladies - Mess Dress, cocktail dresses or formal wear.  Cadets:  Young gentlemen - Blue uniform with white shirt and black bow tie or "Sunday best".  Young ladies - Blue Uniform, fancy dress or "Sunday best".

HOW TO GET THERE
If you are flying private or Corportate aircraft into Albuquerque, please see Aircraft Tie Downs in the folloing information.  If you are driving:

-- from the west on I-40, take exitt 160 Carlisle Blvd.  Turn left on Carlisle and left on Menaul.  It will be a few blocks down on your left: 2020 Menaul

--from the east on I-40, take exit 160 turn right on Carlisle Blvd and left on Menaul:  2020 Menaul Blvd.

--from the south on I-25 take exit 225 Lomas.  Drive on frontage road north to Menaul..  Turn right on Menaul to 2020 Menaul.

--from the north on I-25 take exit 227.  Drive on fontage road south to Menaul.  Turn left on Menaul to 2020 Menaul.

AIRCRAFT TIE-DOWNS
If arriving by corporate aircraft:  Albuquerque's airport is co-located with Kirtland AFB.  Visiting CAP aircraft will be permitted to use the Kirtland AFB Aero Club ramp and facilities:  prior notification is required.  If you pland to fly a corporate aircaft to the Wing Conference and wish to park it at the Aero Club ramp, hyou must contact the New Mexico Wing Liaison Officer, Mr. Fred Harsany, at least 15 days prior to your arrival and request that he make apropriate arrangments.  You may contact Mr. Harsany by phone at 505-846-5420, by fax at 505-846-5418, or by e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. To arrange pick-up from the FBO, the Aero Club, or the ABQ International airport, please contact the Project Officer at the bottom of this page.

SUNDAY PRAYER SERVICES
There will be a non-denominational prayer service coordinated by our NM Wing Chaplain, Chaplain Lt Col John Doughty.  It will be held at 8:00 am Sunday Morning at the hotel.  Should you choose to attend the churcho of your choice, there are listings by denomination in the local phone book.

WHAT TO WEAR OUTSIDE THE CONFERENCE
The weather can be beautiful or rainy and cold.  Plan your wardrobe for cool mornings, relatively mild midday and cool evening temperatures.

WHAT ELSE TO DO
Albuquerque is full of fun things to do.  Shopping, Old Town, Museums, and weather permitting, golfing.
